]]> The Awards season was in full swing over the past few weeks with the MTV VMAs, Met Gala, and Emmys finally happening and as per usual, there were some beauty trends we saw over and over again on the red carpet. While it’s often the dresses that get the attention, the beauty looks were on point this year. These were five of the best beauty looks from fall awards season.

Face Bedazzling

Between Machine Gun Kelly covering his face in pearl at the MTV VMAs to Storm Reid, Amanda Gorman, Maisie Williams, and Julia Garner wearing bedazzled faces at the Met Gala, face jewels are super in.

Hair Structures

When it came to hair, hair structures were in full swing at the Met Gala. Architectural designs including Naomi Osaka’s braided updo and Lupita Nyong’o afro were some of the best ones at the event.

Neon Eyeliner

Neon was a huge trend on the red carpet and it didn’t stop at dresses—celebrities like Michaela Coel and Yara Shahidi wore eyeliner in bold colors at the Emmys and Emma Chamberlain wore lime green at the Met Gala.

Mullet

At the MTV VMAs the mullet, a once-controversial haircut but now super trendy, ruled the red carpet. Miley Cyrus made the mullet popular again and Debby Ryan, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, and Bretman Rock were among the stars who wore the business-in-front, party-in-the-back hairstyle.

Extremely Long Nails

The Emmys brought the drama when it came to manicures—celebrities wore extremely long nails with the motto seeming to be—the longer the better. Cynthia Erivo, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Taraji P Henson, and Emma Corrin had nails for days.

Mascara Tears

Usually, we don’t like it when our mascara starts bleeding onto our cheeks, but at the Gucci runway, mascara tears gave the models a punky edge.

Bold Lips

Classic red lips took a backseat at Milan Fashion Week this year. Bold, metallic colors were shown on the GCDS runway and Fendi’s deep plum and Missoni’s rust brown brought us back to the 90s.

Braided Updo

This classy braided hairstyle was shown on the Fendi runway and the hairstylist behind the design, Sam McKnight was inspired by pastries and Star Wars.

Straight, Blunt Haircuts

Straight, blunt haircuts are super high fashion, so it comes as no surprise they were seen on Prada and Missoni’s runway.

Exfoliation was very popular for a while, but people are letting go of this skincare habit now that it’s become clear that harsh exfoliators can do us more harm than good.

Out – DIY

Nobody’s interested in homemade “natural” cosmetics of suspicious quality anymore. There are plenty of choices in the regular stores anyway.

Christine started creating the look on a girl with dark blonde hair. She colored each strand separately by hand using various shades such as mirage, butter cream, and Irish creme. The process lasted for two and a half hours but she said that it would probably take longer on a dark-haired customer.

Sand hair got its name because of its resemblance to sandy beaches so it’s no wonder it’s a perfect choice for the upcoming summer.

]]> In the past few years, we’ve seen makeup trends ranging from completely matte face to using highlighters wherever possible. The latest trend that’s taking over Instagram is yoga skin, or – how your skin should look like after practicing yoga regularly. If you can’t stuck with your yoga practice long enough to see how it changes your skin, you can now fake the effect with makeup!

The trend was started by a UK makeup artist Sara Hill, who was the first one to share a hashtag #yogaskin. “I created [the yoga skin technique] to make the skin look lit from within,” she says in the caption. “Healthy, glowing, hydrated, radiant, sheer, and natural. Skin that looks like skin at its very best.”

The Yogaskin Technique I created to make the skin look lit 💡from within. Healthy, glowing, hydrated, radiant, sheer and natural. Skin that looks like skin at its very best. ✴︎Step One – Cleanse and prep your skin as normal. Let your skincare absorb fully before adding the next step. ✴︎Step Two – Apply a small amount of primer (silicone free). ✴︎Step Three – 3-4 Pumps of your favourite foundation liquid. Preferably Sheer/Medium (water based). No full cover. ✴︎Step Four – One drop of your favourite skincare facial oil ✴︎Step Five – One drop of strobe cream or Liquid highlighter. Golden tones work best. ✴︎Step Six – For super shine One small drop of Glow drops (this step is optional ) ✴︎Step Seven – Massage into your skin using your hands; this does many things. It gets the circulation flowing, relaxes you, de-puffs, and makes the base sit better too. Build up in layers on top until you are happy with the coverage created. I would recommend allowing time between layers. ✴︎Step Eight – Add a small amount of liquid concealer only in the areas you wish more coverage like under eyes, spots or around the nose. Please do not overdo this step ✌🏼. You can lightly powder to set concealer. Add cream blush and cream bronzer if you wish. And you can set your face overall with powder too, use a small fluffy brush to do this or puff and keep the powder to a minimum and sheer. No baking please 😘 . If you wish to use setting spray make sure it’s alcohol free to give further hydration. I used.. @chanel.beauty – foundation @kiehlsuki -Facial oil @kevynaucoin -Highlighter liquid @revolutionpro – Glow drops @chanel.beauty – Cream bronzer @glossier – Cream blush Recommend powder – @maccosmeticsuk Blot powder. Recommend set spray @pixibeauty. If this all seems to complex don’t panic! just add a little facial oil into your base keep everything looking sheer as possible. If you have very oily skin and don’t like to look shiny this might not be the look for you. While this isn’t a new look as Lil Kim rocked it in the 90s, we’re still all about hair paint which was shown on Pucci’s runway. The spray-painted neon leaves and block print matched the outfits in the collection.

Mascara Tears

Usually, we don’t like it when our mascara starts bleeding onto our cheeks, but at the Gucci runway, mascara tears gave the models a punky edge.

Bold Lips

Classic red lips took a backseat at Milan Fashion Week this year. Bold, metallic colors were shown on the GCDS runway and Fendi’s deep plum and Missoni’s rust brown brought us back to the 90s.

Braided Updo

This classy braided hairstyle was shown on the Fendi runway and the hairstylist behind the design, Sam McKnight was inspired by pastries and Star Wars.

Straight, Blunt Haircuts

Straight, blunt haircuts are super high fashion, so it comes as no surprise they were seen on Prada and Missoni’s runway.

Exfoliation was very popular for a while, but people are letting go of this skincare habit now that it’s become clear that harsh exfoliators can do us more harm than good.

Out – DIY

They look the most elegant when they are made of velvet or silk, but there are other materials available that dictate if the scrunchie is more appropriate for day or night, everyday or special occasions.

Christine started creating the look on a girl with dark blonde hair. She colored each strand separately by hand using various shades such as mirage, butter cream, and Irish creme. The process lasted for two and a half hours but she said that it would probably take longer on a dark-haired customer.

Sand hair got its name because of its resemblance to sandy beaches so it’s no wonder it’s a perfect choice for the upcoming summer.

]]> In the past few years, we’ve seen makeup trends ranging from completely matte face to using highlighters wherever possible. The latest trend that’s taking over Instagram is yoga skin, or – how your skin should look like after practicing yoga regularly. If you can’t stuck with your yoga practice long enough to see how it changes your skin, you can now fake the effect with makeup!

The trend was started by a UK makeup artist Sara Hill, who was the first one to share a hashtag #yogaskin. “I created [the yoga skin technique] to make the skin look lit from within,” she says in the caption. “Healthy, glowing, hydrated, radiant, sheer, and natural. Skin that looks like skin at its very best.”

The Yogaskin Technique I created to make the skin look lit 💡from within. Healthy, glowing, hydrated, radiant, sheer and natural. Skin that looks like skin at its very best. ✴︎Step One – Cleanse and prep your skin as normal. Let your skincare absorb fully before adding the next step. ✴︎Step Two – Apply a small amount of primer (silicone free). ✴︎Step Three – 3-4 Pumps of your favourite foundation liquid. Preferably Sheer/Medium (water based). No full cover. ✴︎Step Four – One drop of your favourite skincare facial oil ✴︎Step Five – One drop of strobe cream or Liquid highlighter. Golden tones work best. ✴︎Step Six – For super shine One small drop of Glow drops (this step is optional ) ✴︎Step Seven – Massage into your skin using your hands; this does many things. It gets the circulation flowing, relaxes you, de-puffs, and makes the base sit better too. Build up in layers on top until you are happy with the coverage created. I would recommend allowing time between layers. ✴︎Step Eight – Add a small amount of liquid concealer only in the areas you wish more coverage like under eyes, spots or around the nose. Please do not overdo this step ✌🏼. You can lightly powder to set concealer. Add cream blush and cream bronzer if you wish. And you can set your face overall with powder too, use a small fluffy brush to do this or puff and keep the powder to a minimum and sheer. No baking please 😘 . If you wish to use setting spray make sure it’s alcohol free to give further hydration. I used.. @chanel.beauty – foundation @kiehlsuki -Facial oil @kevynaucoin -Highlighter liquid @revolutionpro – Glow drops @chanel.beauty – Cream bronzer @glossier – Cream blush Recommend powder – @maccosmeticsuk Blot powder. Recommend set spray @pixibeauty. If this all seems to complex don’t panic! just add a little facial oil into your base keep everything looking sheer as possible. If you have very oily skin and don’t like to look shiny this might not be the look for you.
