]]> This year we’ve spent most of our time at home in loungewear and all of the outfits we were super excited to wear have been hanging in our closet until we can finally head to bars, restaurants, and movie theaters. Even though these trends had their moment on Instagram, come 2021, we’ll finally get to wear them outside of our homes. These are the micro-trends from 2020 that will be trendy in 2021.

Tummy Ties

Coming straight from the runway, tummy ties flatter every body and they’ll make their way onto tops, skirts, and pants.

Onesies

We’ve been wearing onesies for sleeping, lounging, and working out in 2020 and they’ll be just as popular in 2021. To make them more wearable outside of your house, top the look off with a blazer and combat boots.

Checkerboard Print

Vans made this print super mainstream in the 2000s, but the 2021 way to wear checkerboard print is with everything from faux fur coats to pleated midi skirts.

Second-Skin Tops

These figure-hugging tops look great worn under sweater vests and overalls or when worn on their own. It’s the elevated basic you should have in your wardrobe for years to come.

Square Toe Shoes

What won’t we do to look fashionable? These shoes may not be the most practical or comfy, but they sure look cute.

Square-Toe Pumps

We’re still not sure what we think of this trend that was made popular by Bottega Veneta. One things for sure, it’s been everywhere throughout the seasons on boots, thong sandals, and classic pumps. Bottega Veneta has even come out with a mesh version of the square-toe pumps.

Pouch Purse

There have been many bag trends this year including the mini bag and the oversize purse, but our favorite is the pouch purse. This is another trend made popular by Bottega Veneta and some of our favorite celebrities are loving the pouch. Luxury Sneakers

Who knew sneakers could be so elegant? We’re dying for a pair of Prada or Chanel chunky dad sneakers, but luckily all the high-street brands have jumped on this trend. These shoes are fun with all the bright color options and they’re practical because they’re super comfy.

Padded Shoulder Jacket

The bigger the shoulders the better the jacket is. This 80s trend makes a statement when you walk into any room. Oversized blazers and padded shoulders help exude the confidence you have within while making you look like a boss.
