Unshrink Your Jeans With These Easy Steps

Jeans can be shrunk in the dryer because heat causes shrinkage. The material naturally constricts and shrinks when it is exposed to heat. However, this happens to poly-bend jeans more because they have a softer texture with extra stretch. You can unshrink your jeans using any of the following tips:

Jump in the tub

This old trick works well, and all it takes is wearing the jeans and immersing yourself in a tub of warm water. Allow the material to soak for fifteen minutes. When you get out, squeeze tightly to remove the moisture and wear for one hour. It is quite uncomfortable so stay home after this process. Allow it to air dry.

Soak in baby shampoo and water

You can also try soaking the jeans in a bowl of lukewarm water and some baby shampoo. This is a more viable option than wearing sopping jeans. Put the jeans in the water and let them soak for thirty minutes.

Preventing

Always wash your denim materials inside out to prevent shrinkage. Also, dry them at once or hang them to dry without using heat. It may be convenient to dry them with heat, but it causes shrinkage in the long term, especially if the jeans are not pure denim.
