Watch Out For Hidden Sugar in Your Food

Although most people just associate sugar with sweets, nowadays so many products the grocery store are actually full of sugar without you even knowing it. Before you do your weekly shop, take a look at this list and make sure you aren’t buying a cart full of sugar.

Cereal

Even the cereals that look like they’re healthy with grains and bran have sugar. Some cereals have up to 20 grams of sugar in one serving, which is equal to 2/3 a can of soda.

Crackers

Even though crackers are notoriously savory, check the label to see if any has snuck in there. Some crackers have up to 4 grams of sugar per serving, which is totally unnecessary and should be avoided. And if you can’t find anything you like, making them at home with nuts and seeds is super easy and actually vegan.

Protein Powder

Although protein powder is supposed to be added to drinks to make you stronger, a lot of times companies will add in sugar to make it taste better. Even though the powders without sugar can be not so appetizing, it’s better to mix them with real sugars like in a homemade fruit smoothie to mellow out the taste.
