Effective and Natural Remedies for Jetlag

No matter how much you plan, you may suffer from jetlag as a traveler. There’s a lot you can do to cure jetlag naturally. Some ideas include:

Going for a run

It may seem like a good idea to sleep when you reach your hotel, but this does not solve the problem. Go for a run or a swim. Do any activity that pumps your blood such as cardio. This keeps you energized for the entire day.

Don’t take caffeine

It may also be tempting to push caffeine down your throat if you are jetlagged. However, this does not help in any way. Caffeine disrupts sleep and also dehydrates you as well. Its effects backfire and worsen the situation.

If you need to stay awake, drink water. Staying hydrated prevents jetlag.

Go outside

You do not necessarily need to sunbathe, but you need to go outside during the day. Use some sunscreen while you are out. The sun is a great stimulant for waking the biological clock. Remaining indoors worsens jetlag.

Eat often

Eating often helps fight jetlag. Space your meals out regularly all through the day to tackle the problem. You don’t need any particular kind of food, but a high carb dinner and high protein breakfast are ideal.
