Oatmeal is a whole grain, gluten-free and a good source of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. But even though it is healthy for breakfast, it is sometimes unappetizing. That is why being artistic and putting a few additional ingredients can make your breakfast not just healthy but tasty.

Here are some suggested add-ons to put flavors in your oatmeal:

Milk and Yogurt

You can cook it with low-fat milk or flavored milk and sweeten it with Vanilla or Maple syrup. Greek Yogurt will make it creamy and a little sour.

Fruits

Berries such as strawberries, blueberries and raspberries are some popular small fruits that can be added as toppings on your oatmeal. Tropical fresh fruits such as banana, mango and melon are also nice suggestion to add.

Nuts

Any kind of nuts will do but Almonds and Pistachios have the lowest calories.

Chocolates

For better flow of blood, dark chocolates or dark chocolate chips are recommended. Cocoa powder can also be vigorous.

Vegetables and Spices

Carrots are well-known. Eggplant is helpful in increasing antioxidants. You can also go with green leafy vegetables or choose ginger, cinnamon and sesame seed instead.
