But first, I wanted to take a minute to talk about friendship. 10 years ago on the night of the Met Gala I entered through a back door, bags in hand, and helped my friend @ladygaga change in to her performance outfit for her first Met Gala, where she would sing all her hits and dazzle the fashion crowd. 10 years later I walked in the front door hand in hand with her, having had the opportunity to design 4 outfits for her. In between these two nights, which were both momentous for me, a long and wondrous relationship has both sustained me and propelled me to believe I could walk through any door, so long as I did it with integrity and hard work. The world sees the moments on a carpet, tihe moments on stage, but I’ve been fortunate enough to see the moments behind the curtain that truly define what makes a star a star. There has never been a moment in our friendship where I did not feel that I was supported, that I did not feel that my best interests were put first, where I did not feel anything other than complete love and respect. She has pushed me to be better, to do better, and to achieve my dreams farther than I even could have imagined them to go. We were once two kids that had crazy dreams, a love for the performance and the show, a respect for the craft and those that came before, and now we are two adults who have held hands through many storms, and come out smiling on the other side. Friendship and loyalty are important, especially in our industries, and I’m so blessed to have been witness to the greatest example. Love your friends for who they are, and where they are, ride the ride together, be proud, because no success is worth it without the ones you love. In an interview with Allure, Lady Gaga revealed that makeup has always meant more to her than meets the eye. She says about putting makeup on: “I feel this superhero within. It gives me those wings to fly.”
Speaking further about the power of makeup, she said: “When I became Lady Gaga when I was younger, it was because I discovered makeup. It means so much to me on a deep visceral level — the power of makeup to change how you feel when you’re at your lowest.”
She added: “I would do a show, then I would get on an airplane, go to another country or state, get off, drive 40 minutes to the hotel, go to sleep, wake up, do another show. I was dizzy.
“Sarah [Tanno, Lady Gaga’s makeup artist] would pick me up off the floor, sit me in a chair, dry my tears, and say, ‘I’m going to put on your face now,’” she continued. “Sarah would do my makeup, Freddie [Aspiras] would do my hair, and they would hold me and say, ‘Look at yourself. There’s Lady Gaga. You can do this. Now go do it.’ And I would go out there, and the second that spotlight hits me, bam, I’m in the zone.”
This transformation is what Haus Laboratories is all about. “I want the same thing that I’ve had in my concerts to happen with this company,” says Gaga. “If I’m not changing people’s lives, what are we doing here?”

]]>The range will be called “Haus Laboratories” and will be launched exclusively on Amazon. The daring pop star announced the news in the form of a video, featuring music by Boys Noize, Bloodpop, Tchami and herself.
In the bold video, she quips: “The last thing the world needs is another beauty brand, but that’s too bad. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but at Haus Laboratories we say beauty is how you see yourself. Your glam. Your expression. Your artistry. We want you to love yourself.”
She adds: “Our house. Your rules.”

We don’t have many details about the new collection but pre-orders will begin July 15 and the kit will go on sale in September. The initial kits will include lip gloss, lip liner and more.
