Moving can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be! With this guide, you can have a smooth transition into your new space without becoming too overwhelmed.
Before you start putting things in boxes, you need to first get rid of things. This might be hard, but everyone has at least 1 junk drawer that needs some serious attention. Think about what items you actually used in your current home, and if you haven’t used something, give it away. Starting the process by minimizing your things will only make your life easier.
When you pack your things, think about how you want to organize everything. You can do it by room or by items, whatever you feel is most efficient for you.
Also, make sure that you utilize storage items that you already have like backpacks, suitcases, and crates since you’ll have to bring them to your new place anyway, you might as well fill them with items.
If you’re in need of boxes but don’t have any and don’t want to pay for them, head to your local liquor store! They always have boxes from the cases of bottles that come in so you can take as many as you want.
Also, instead of using newspaper to wrap delicate things, use stray socks and dish clothes.
