We live in the time of greatest abundance ever seen. Material things have become cheap but people are less happy than ever. This leads us to believe that acquiring materialistic possessions is not key to a high-quality life. However, the concept of high-quality life is different for everybody and it often involves things that are not strictly materialistic.

Many people believe that in order to live a good life you need luxurious things and experiences. Expensive hotels, spa days, new cars, they all come to mind when thinking about the perfect life. But is that really what you need? And if you don’t get to have it, are you doomed to the life of eternal unhappiness?

Turns out, it’s important to set high standards for your life but they don’t have anything to do with labels or price tags. To live a high-quality life means to live every moment to the fullest and to take the most out of every situation. You can travel – today is cheaper and easier to do it than ever – but still not spend a fortune on it. Pick destinations that make your soul happy.

You can have a closet full of clothes if that’s what brings you joy, but you can also decide not to have it and enjoy the freedom that comes from that. Instead of spending time scrolling Instagram and being jealous of other people’s lives, go outside and spend a day exploring the area.

Surround yourself with people you love and decide to spend more time with them. Clean your home. Make a homemade face mask. All these things almost never cost a fortune, but they bring true joy and a sense of purpose to your life.
