Traveling cash-free might seem like a wise option because you’re not at risk of losing your money, but actually, it’s the complete opposite. Here’s why you should carry at least some physical money on your next trip.
Risky Business
You should stash at least some cash in the safe space for a case of emergency. Having your wallet stolen or lost is one of the worst things that can happen during your trip and you should take necessary precautions to protect some of your cash, just in case.
Card Trouble
You should also carry a card with you, but cash can come in handy when your card lets you down. If your bank happens to suspends your card for any reason, cash will prove to be useful until the problem is solved.
Local Markets
It might be 21st century, but it’s not possible to use a card everywhere you go. Many of the local stores don’t support this method or you have to pay an extra fee or spend a certain amount of money in order to pay with a card.
