A lot of people don’t ever think about cleaning the inside of the washing machine since we associate it with already being clean since it makes our clothes clean. However, washing machines also get build ups and germs can manifest inside the damp environment, so it’s best to actually wash your machine once a month. Also, between washes, you should leave your machine door open to let it dry which helps to discourage bacteria from growing. Cleaning a machine is very easy to do, and is super effective.

Instructions

  1. Use white vinegar or hydrogen peroxide on a towel to first clean the gasket of the washing machine.
  2. Set your washing machine to a setting the disperses hot water and for the largest capacity load your washing machine can fit.
  3. Pour in about 1 cup of white distilled vinegar into when your detergent normally goes.
  4. Make sure nothing is in the basin and allow the machine to run like normal.
  5. Then, once that cycle is done, run the machine again but this time without any vinegar. This will clear out all the vinegar that was in the machine previously.
  6. After that, your washing machine will be totally clean and safe to use!
