Taking care of your hair tools is just as important as the one that are a part of your makeup routine. The skin on the scalp is sensitive, so you always want to make sure that you have clean and quality brushes and combs. These simple tips will help you learn how to clean hairbrushes.

Do It Often

Before we move on to the actual procedure, there’s one thing you need to know. Clean your brushes at least once a month. The problem is that just like any other type of brush, they do have bacteria on them, which is not healthy at all if you avoid washing them properly. It’s not good for the scalp or the hair either. Hygiene is key, remember that!

Soak Them

Wash the brushes with warm water. Fill a bowl or the sink, and add a mild shampoo. If you have a wooden brush, all you need to do is clean it with the shampoo then rinse. When you’re done, leave it to dry completely.

Another smart tip is to clean hairbrushes after every use. In other words, remove all the hair with a thin handle of a comb. Very simple and will save you so much time.
