When people think of champagne and other bubbly wines, they automatically think of a toast and the sound of clinking flutes. While it may seem special to drink champagne out of a different type of glass, you may actually be worsening your experience because of it. If you want to become more of a champagne expert, these are the tips you have to follow.

Skip the Flutes

Flutes are a good cup of choice for sparkling if you want to keep it really bubbly since you’re limiting the exposure to air which makes it de-carbonate. However, that’s all flutes do for champagne, and it can actually make your drinking experience less pleasurable. When you have champagne in a wider wine glass, you can smell it better which plays a big role in how it tastes, and when it’s in a flute, you won’t pick up those notes so you won’t get the full experience.

Temperature

It’s always nice to have a cold glass of bubbly, but you actually don’t need it too cold at all. Most experts say that you should drink it at about 50 F, and even a little warmer than that is alright. If you do put it in the fridge or freezer for too long, you can actually kill some of the flavors, so don’t be afraid for it to be less than frigid!
