The smell of fresh coffee is usually related to mornings since many people see this tasty beverage as a part of their wake-up routine. They also enjoy drinking it during a coffee break at work, with friends after work, and once they get home and want to relax with a good book.

There is still one question that needs to be answered – how many cups of coffee can you drink per day without putting a strain on your health?

Caffeine

Caffeine helps your body work faster and harder, but it can also indicate that you may have reached your limit for now if you take in too much. That’s why most people would agree that if you drink a lot of coffee, you will feel nervous and irritable.

Genetics

Studies have shown that no matter if you drink six or more cups of coffee, or don’t drink coffee at all we are all likely to develop cardiovascular diseases. Drinking more then six cups of coffee a day will increase those chances by 10-15%. According to many studies, our health is most influenced by genetics.

Right Amount

Previous researches have also found that coffee is rich in antioxidants and can reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. There may be no reason to cut coffee from your life, but you should consume it in moderation. Studies have found that the daily intake of up to 400 mg, or about four cups of coffee, is just the right amount per day.
