Make Sure you Take These Plants Out of the House Before Taking a Cat

Although having plants in your home has its own benefits – they clean the air and make your home beautiful, they can also be very toxic to your pets, especially for cats who love to chew on them. If you have a cat and own some of these indoor plants, get rid of them as soon as possible.

Aloe Vera

Great for burns and minor cuts, but very harmful to cats. It can cause stomach problems such as vomiting, diarrhea, and anorexia. Tremors, depression, and change in urine color are also side effects of eating aloe.

Dieffenbachia

Ingestion of any type of Dieffenbachia can lead to irritation and inflammation in your cat’s mouth, as well as difficulty swallowing, drooling and vomiting.

Philodendron

There are several types of Philodendron, unfortunately, all toxic. Although it is a common houseplant, it can be very harmful to your fur friend.

Christmas Rose

Chewing on Christmas Rose can cause drooling, abdominal pain, colic, and depression.

Dracaena

Dracaena is a common plant found in homes, which can cause bloody vomit, depression, anorexia, hypersalivation and dilated pupils.

Chinese Jade

Chinese Jade is known as a popular good luck charm in Asia, however, it is toxic. It will make your cat nauseous and lead to vomiting.
