Margot Robbie Pays Homage to Sharon Tate with Her Cannes Hairstyle

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was one of the biggest hits of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and Margot Robbie made a couple of pretty interesting red carpet choices while promoting it. One thing that caught everyone’s eye was her hippie hairstyle, which looked surprisingly familiar.

Robbie attended the photocall for Quentin Tarantino’s latest film in a romantic Chanel dress with tulle and lace details. This outfit proved to be the perfect choice for another hot day on the French Riviera, but her hairstyle still managed to steal the show.

The Australian actress parted her hair in the middle and rocked two loose braids on each side. Some fashion experts felt she should’ve put in more effort, but that’s only because they didn’t get the reference.

Robbie actually used her hairstyle to pay tribute to Sharon Tate, who she plays in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The late actress wore identical braided style when she attended the Cannes Film Festival in 1968, one year before her tragic death.
