Instead, everything you use for food and entertainment should be reusable, buy your clothes either second hand and or with high-quality materials so they will last, and only buy food that is in-season to promote sustainable agriculture.

Carbon Footprint

Carbon emitted into the atmosphere is something that is destroying the earth, so to live more sustainably, try cutting down on your carbon emissions. This means taking public transit, walking, or cycling more instead of using a car. Also, trying to go on planes less frequently and when you do, try going on eco-friendly planes that offset their carbon emission by planting trees.

You might have been to a farmers market and been surprised at home expensive things are and thought it’s not worth your time or money. But, it really is for so many reasons, economically and environmentally especially in the long term.

What Does Local Mean?

When someone says to shop local, it means to buy products and produce that has been grown in your area. This means that it doesn’t have to travel far to get to you, which reduce air pollution and amps up freshness, and thereby, flavor.

Money

Buying local produce from a farmers market might be more expensive at times, but your money is going towards people in your community and not a big corporation who is also polluting the planet. Local farmers work hard to produce organic and sustainable foods, so in the end, if the price is higher because the food is actually better. Also, you’re putting money back into your community which always pays off.

Seasonal

When you want tomatoes in December, it takes a lot of energy and produces a lot of waste since they’re not in season. Buying local means you’re buying seasonal products that are better for the environment.

Save Energy

Try to save electricity whenever you can. Turn off the lights you’re not using and turn the washing machine on when it’s full. This will also help you reduce the electricity bill.

Recycle

Try to buy stuff made using recycled materials and make sure to separate your trash for recycling. By separating paper from plastic and glass you will do your part in helping the planet be healthier.

Reduce Waste

Avoid buying groceries packed in plastic whenever you can. Use your own shopping bags instead of getting the plastic ones at the store. Use a water filter instead of buying bottled water.

Tiny homes are the newest rage in living for people of all ages. The appeal of living somewhere where you don’t have to pay rent and actually owning something is really powerful and practical for a lot of people. Some people even go as far as to skip the house part and go straight for something on wheels! People converting school buses into homes is one of the newer trends because they are more portable, perfect for people who love to travel.

With a school bus, there is so much potential for a home. A lot of people choose to use materials for places like the kitchen that are the same that you would find in a regular home, which gives it a less extreme and more livable feel.

One thing that is great about a school bus versus a regular home is that because it is so much smaller, it is much more environmentally friendly. Because you’re using less energy, your carbon footprint is automatically lower. Also, many people choose to put solar panels on the top of the bus, which is easy to install and less expensive because you don’t need as many as you would for a regular home.

Save Energy

Try to save electricity whenever you can. Turn off the lights you’re not using and turn the washing machine on when it’s full. This will also help you reduce the electricity bill.

Recycle

Try to buy stuff made using recycled materials and make sure to separate your trash for recycling. By separating paper from plastic and glass you will do your part in helping the planet be healthier.

Reduce Waste

Avoid buying groceries packed in plastic whenever you can. Use your own shopping bags instead of getting the plastic ones at the store. Use a water filter instead of buying bottled water.

Tiny homes are the newest rage in living for people of all ages. The appeal of living somewhere where you don’t have to pay rent and actually owning something is really powerful and practical for a lot of people. People converting school buses into homes is one of the newer trends because they are more portable, perfect for people who love to travel.

With a school bus, there is so much potential for a home. A lot of people choose to use materials for places like the kitchen that are the same that you would find in a regular home, which gives it a less extreme and more livable feel.

One thing that is great about a school bus versus a regular home is that because it is so much smaller, it is much more environmentally friendly. Because you’re using less energy, your carbon footprint is automatically lower. Also, many people choose to put solar panels on the top of the bus, which is easy to install and less expensive because you don’t need as many as you would for a regular home.
