Vans Dropped a New Collection Inspired by Frida Kahlo

Only a month after releasing a limited edition of Harry Potter inspired shoes, Vans now dropped another gorgeous collection. This one is inspired by the famous Mexican painter Frida Kahlo and her colorful and surrealist paintings.

Vans designed three different models that feature Kahlo’s iconic paintings – “Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird”, a 1939 self-portrait “Las Dos Fridas”, as well as her last known painting from 1954 “Viva la Vida, Watermelons”.

“Known best for her self-portraits and works inspired by Mexico, the Vault by Vans x Frida Kahlo collection brings a sampling of the artist’s paintings to life on classic Vans silhouettes”, the brand wrote on their Instagram page.

This isn’t the brand’s first time to pay tribute to a famous painter – last year they released a collection inspired by Van Gogh’s art.

The Vault by Vans x Frida Kahlo collection was released on June 29 and it will be available in selected store across the United States.
