Let’s be honest—who isn’t stressed right now? While you can see a masseuse or acupuncturist when you are feeling anxious, you can also get rid of stress at home. Here are three things you can do at home to alleviate stress.

Essential Oils

Essential oils like lavender, lemongrass, or peppermint can be incorporated into your meditation or yoga routine for a more relaxing experience. You can even put a few drops in a diffuser or bath for a calming nighttime routine.

Massage Balls

Massage balls can do more than loosen muscles after a workout—they’re great for mimicking a masseuse’s hands and alleviating stress in hard-to-reach places.

Weighted Blankets

Human touch is one of the best ways to slow down your heart rate and reduce stress and weighted blankets can do it. These blankets mimic hugs, which we could all use more of now.

The seasonal change is more than just a change in the weather. As summer comes to an end, there are no more warm long nights and carefree days on the beach. The summer vacation is behind us and the next one seems so far away. It’s time to get back to the routine and focus on work and other things that make up daily life. It can get overwhelming, especially if you postponed a lot of things in an attempt to make the most out of the summer.

While colder days and rainy weather affect our mood and even health, so does the stress that comes with sudden changes. All this lowers endorphins, hormones responsible for feeling happy.

If you’re struggling with this season, keep in mind that it will go away sooner than you think. If you can, plan a city break over a weekend. When you’re not going anywhere, invite friends over for board games or some other indoor fun. Add some tasty food and you’ll quickly forget what’s been troubling you about fall and winter.

Try wearing more bright colors on a daily basis. Eat healthier and include some exercise whenever you can; this will all affect how you’re feeling and thinking.

Even if you think that you’ve finally found your dream job, a lot of work and stress on a daily basis can seriously affect your health. This is why it’s important to recognize typical signs of burnout that are telling you to slow down.

Lack of Motivation

The job that you once loved is making you miserable now and going into work is getting harder every day. Lack of motivation and enthusiasm is a sign that you’re experiencing burnout.

Exhaustion

Another thing that can indicate you’re experiencing burnout is when you’re feeling tired all the time and don’t have the energy to do things you normally love.

Negative Emotions

All of us experience some negative emotions from time to time, but if frustration and cynicism are disrupting your life that is certainly not a good sign.

Job Performance

Anxiety and stress at work will certainly affect your job performance, so don’t be surprised if you’re not as productive as before if you’re burnt out.

Eating and Sleeping Habits

Unhealthy eating habits and lack of sleep are clear signs of stress, so the only question is – is that stress work-related?

Art is one of the most important things in society for so many reasons. Many scientific links have been proven to show that children succeed better academically if they are exposed to art from a young age, but what about adults? Even if you’ve never taken an art class before, there are still many benefits to creating art as an adult. Here are some ways you can incorporate art into your life.

Studies have shown that creating art can release stress and reduce anxiety, so if you have a stressful job, you really should consider making some art. Just 30-45 minutes will decrease your cortisol levels, which is the hormone responsible for stress. You can pick up a watercolor palette if you want something a little delicate, or get some typical acrylic paints if you want to make something with texture and body.

Did you ever doodle while you were in school and have your teacher tell you off for it? Well, studies have shown that the brain actually can focus better if you’re mindlessly doodling! So if you’re in a job where you have to take notes at a meeting, let your coworkers know beforehand and try to do some doodling and see if you don’t soak in the information a little better.

Along with spring, our bodies wake up and get ready for a new season. Longer days and warmer weather require more energy from us, but our bodies often need time to adjust, which leads to spring fatigue and tiredness.

cientists are still not sure why exactly this happens. What’s known is that our bodies react to change and seasonal change triggers stress that most of us feel through physical symptoms. When spring arrives, our bodies increase the production of hormones like serotonin, dopamine, and cortisol, which requires more energy and leaves us more tired and less motivated throughout the day.

In order to boost energy and minimize stress until you adjust, try the following tips.

  1. Keep the temperature in your home consistent
  2. Take naps when needed
  3. Have a daily routine
  4. Listen to what your body is saying
  5. Meditate
  6. Take an epsom salt bath
  7. Drink more water

In today’s world, nobody is completely prone to stress. As much as you try to live a lowkey life, stress finds a way to find you and anxiety creeps over you before you even notice. If you’re constantly struggling to organize your thoughts and worries, despite knowing they are not helping you be productive, the rule of three might be just the thing you need to get back control over your life.

The rule of three basically says that you can focus on no more than three worries at a time. Even though it may sound too simple or even counter-intuitive, as you’re consciously allowing yourself to worry, it’s actually proven to be efficient.

When you first try it, you will notice that you can fill those three spaces with worries in no time. Then, when you find yourself jammed in traffic and late for an important meeting, you need to decide – will you abandon one of the previous worries to let the new one in or will you ignore the latest one?

Worrying is in human nature and we all do it, but limiting yourself to no more than three worries at a time is a powerful tool that can help you get your life in order in the simplest way possible.

a healthy diet isn’t a magical cure for every problem you might have, but it can help with some of them. Try one of these tasty foods if you happen to be one of the millions of people affected by anxiety.

Avocado

Vitamin B is very essential for maintaining healthy nerves and brain cells, and avocado just happens to be an excellent source of stress-relieving vitamins.

Salmon

Salmon is very rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are known for promoting brain health and having a calming effect on the human body.

Asparagus

Deficiency of folic acid has been linked with anxiety and depression, and eating asparagus can come in handy because it contains a valuable amount of this mood-boosting nutrient.

I’m hungry right now wishing I had this ZAATAR salmon and DAIRY FREE CARBONARA. Remember that dairy free Carbonara sauce I made? Well I made it again last week and altered it a little to have a sub for the nutritional yeast. It was amazing! Slightly different in flavor but still creamy and delicious. Also, took a little styling inspo from my babe @sara.haven. 😘 Posting deets below. So, I have a new project I’m working on…I’m doing a COMPLETE makeover of my website and taking it in a new direction. Wanting to know what exactly you would like to see! I’ll be taking some polls in my stories but also comment below if there is anything specific. • • • Deets: seared @salmonandsable wild salmon seasoned with zataar seasoning and lemon (you can find my method for salmon in my highlights), sautéed garlic asparagus (heat 1 clove of garlic in 1 teaspoon of ghee over medium high heat and quickly sauté the asparagus with some salt and pepper (soaks up the garlic flavor), mushrooms sautéed in just coconut aminos no oil (trust me so good!), gluten free pasta with tomatoes and this sauce. SAUCE: 1/4 cup cashew butter, 1/3 cup water, 2-3 tablespoons olive oil, 1.5 tablespoons lemon juice, 2 cloves garlic, 3 tablespoons roasted white sweet potatoes, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, 1 teaspoon salt and a few dashes of paprika. Add more water if needed or add more sweet potato if you want it thicker. • • • #salmon #healthypasta #foodie #carbonara #kaylaitsines #glutenfreedairyfree #cuisinesworld #healthyeats #wholesome #goodmoodfood #glutenfree #wholefoods #feedfeed #eatingwelleats #dairyfree #foodphotography #functionalfood #chefsofinstagram #simplemeals #tastingtable #cleaneating #mealprep #feedfeedglutenfree #carbs #feedyoursoull #functionalfood #macandcheese #foodblogger

Flowers give us clear communication about what their potential benefits are by their shape, color, smell signature, and taste profile. . Jasmine, for example, has white, five pointed flowers and has a sweet, bright, aromatic scent. White is the color of the crown chakra, and this color helps to connect us to higher power. Essential oils from white flowers are wonderful at inspiring inner peace, bliss, and oneness, especially when used in times of stress or when the central nervous system just needs a bit of a spiritual uplift. Studies on jasmine essential oil massages have shown that participants are invigorated, alert and vigorous following massage. . The five points of the jasmine officinalis flower indicate that it has general tonifying properties. . Essential oils from flowers are also great to use when you are planning to become pregnant, pregnant or nursing because floral energy is the energy of reproduction. This is because flowers help bring pollinators and move pollen into the masculine pieces of the plant. . Jasmine is a very fragile flower, easily broken. Therefore the oil is hypothesized to be of particular benefit when used during times where we lack confidence, have our ego a bit bruised, or need a bit of self-love. . Just finished a killer workout? Tired from standing all day at work? Feel your back and neck aching? There are a handful of ways to naturally relieve muscle soreness, but we’ve compiled the best and most accessible for you. Find your favorite way to relieve muscle pain!

Foam Roller

These handy contraptions are a portable masseuse – they allow you to perform a self-myofascial release or self-massage. The foam is cut with a variety of ridges, that when rolled on, dig deep into muscle tissue to release pressure and relieve stress. It’s slightly painful, but the instant results are freeing. There are several types of foam rollers (no ridges, multiple ridges, vibrating roller), so you should go to a fitness store to find the right one for you.

Heating Pad

A heating pad is a great passive way to relieve your body from tension. I recommend buying one with automatic shut off and adjustable temperature so you can turn it on before you go to bed and it will shut off in two hours, so you can sleep in peace. You should wear a shirt while using it so you don’t get any burns in case it’s too hot for you.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bhj5faEgGl_/?tagged=heatingpad

Precor Stretch Trainer

Many gyms are equipped with a stretch trainer, which allows you to stretch all major muscle groups in minutes without an extensive yoga class! You can use it before you start your day to loosen up, or after your workout. Your muscles get stretched by working against gravity, and you’ll instantly feel the results.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an alternative therapy that has been around for centuries, and it’s worth getting over your fear of needles for. The needles bring blood flow to wherever they are stuck, stimulating the area and rebalancing the energy. Acupuncture is covered by many insurance companies, so see if you can get a discount!

a healthy diet isn’t a magical cure for every problem you might have, but it can help with some of them.

Therefore the oil is hypothesized to be of particular benefit when used during times where we lack confidence, have our ego a bit bruised, or need a bit of self-love. . What is your favorite way to use jasmine? . Want more information like this on emotions, oils, energy and chakras? Tune into the Club Hangout tonight!
